Seniors Activity Directory Booklets

The Hervey Bay Seniors Information Directory (The little Yellow Booklet) and the seniors activity directory provide information about local services that may assist people over the age of 50 years. Recognising that some services have specific target groups with different age ranges and different eligibility requirements.

The Seniors Information Directory (SID) is a free booklet courtesy of the Fraser Coast Regional Council and made available at a variety of locations including individual service providers, Community Centres, Council (Hervey Bay) and the Library. A copy can be obtained from giving the Seniors Project Officer a call on 4194 2441.

This booklet is updated on a regular basis and organisations/services wanting to update their information or to be included in this booklet also need to contact the Seniors Project Officer on 4194 2441 or via e-mail This email address is being protected from spambots. Young At Heart Group provides a variety of activities including bible studies, speakers on health, social & other topics suited to older people. Picnics, sing-a-longs & visits to places of interest.  The program is followed by a lunch.

Programs include:

· a friendly, relaxed time of singing, prayer and sharing what God has been doing for us

· a devotion or Bible study taken by one of our Young at Heart friends, or a Guest Speaker

· a Bible based quiz or other activity

· Interaction with other seniors’ groups

Various days & times are available but usually 1-2 hours per shift. 07 4193 4365 Volunteer duties include caring for patient's flowers, taking around trolleys with magazines, papers, sweets and toiletry packs as well as fundraising activities. 
Additionally every few months we sell ex hospital computers for $150.

Is an intiative of the Fraser Coast Regional Council in conjunction with the Queensland Government Dept of Communities and the Seniors in Focus Project.

The Directory provides information about local services that may assist people over the age of 50 years. Recognising that some services have specific target groups with different age ranges and different eligibility requirements.
